Biosignia Announces Board Expansion
Research Triangle Park, N.C., (October 27, 2004) – BioSignia, Inc. announced the expansion of its Board of Directors by three members. These additions include Governor James B. Hunt, General H. Hugh Shelton, and Ms. Lucy Bode.
Governor Hunt preceded the current governor of North Carolina, Gov. Mike Easley, and was elected to a total of four terms. He presently is employed at the prestigious law firm of Womble, Carlyle, Sandridge & Rice. General Shelton formerly served as Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff under President Bill Clinton and President George H. W. Bush. He is currently employed as a senior executive of MIC Industries. Ms. Lucy Bode is Chairperson of the North Carolina Medical Care Commission. This organization is involved in the public financing and regulation of many of the health care institutions in the state of North Carolina.
These directors join BioSignia’s other independent directors, Robert Mauldin and John Williams. Mr. Mauldin formerly served as Chairman and CEO of Centura Bank. Mr. Williams founded and served as Chairman of the Board of First Carolina State Bank.
